Our Aim is to:
- Give you a professional, courteous, cost-effective service.
- Be up to date with all relevant medical & nursing developments
so that you can get the best possible care.
- Provide the maximum amount of in-house services.
- Ensure that your needs and well-being are catered for to the
best possible extent.Ensure that this practice is about you, not
us.
We Promise:
- To provide a safe, comfortable environment for you to visit
and to provide safe competent medical and nursing services.
- Not to call you back unnecessarily.
- Not to incur any avoidable expenses on your behalf.
- To prescribe the most cost effective medication.
- To find the cause and solution to your problem if this is possible.
- Not to keep anything from you concerning your condition except
you do not wish to know.
- Not to mislead you or promise what we cannot deliver.
- To be honest with you and to pay our taxes.
We Cannot:
- Cure or explain everything.
- Prevent you from getting ill (only you can sometimes).
- Prevent you from dying if you have an incurable illness (we
will do everything we can to minimise the effects).
- Give you a quality service and surrounds for peanuts (like you
we too have mortgages, grocery bills, etc.)
We Hope:
- That if you are dissatisfied with the service you get, that
you bring your disatisfaction to our attention personally, so
that we can address it (and before you complain about us!).
- That if you are satisfied with the service you get, that you
might occasionally tell us. We are human and we like to know if
we are doing things right.
We Ask You:
- To treat us with the same courtesy you expect from us.
Not to leave problems until the last minute i.e. 5.30pm. Friday
evening. We also get tired, hungry etc.
- To keep your appointments or at least cancel at the earliest
opportunity.
- Not to expect major problems always to be sorted out in one
visit.
- Not to present routine problems as "urgent". This
may cause us to miss the real urgent ones.
- Not to bring a "shopping list" of problems (which
you have been collecting for months), to the clinic first thing
- Monday morning and expect all of them to be solved instantly.
- To come to the clinic, rather that call us out.
- To let us know if you are being treated for the same or related
conditions by someone else i.e. chemist, other doctor, friend,
neighbour etc. This is only fair to us and safter for you.
- To bring whatever medication, creams etc. you are using with
you when you come for a consultation.
- Not to expect us to tell lies on your behalf i.e. falisify insurance
claims, sick certs etc.
- To treat the other doctors on the rota with the same courtesy
as you treat us.
- To understand that each disease and illness is an ever-changing
situation, and that we often need to regulary review (as happens
in hospital) in order to establish the diagnosis and plan the
management and care..
- If you are moving from the practice, please let us know. We
would prefer to know.
- To understand that we cannot be sure of everything all of the
time - 60% of all medical problems remain unidentified (and harmless)
- Not to treat us like God, we might start behaving like HIM/HER.
